OTTAWA — Canada is on the road to exceeding its immigration targets for the second year in a row, according to an internal government document.
It indicates that in the first quarter of this year, almost 58,000 people immigrated to Canada.
That’s an increase of 27 per cent over the same period last year.
This year’s target is between 200,000 and 225,000, up 20 per cent from last year.
