News Briefs - Nova Scotia Joins Nominee Program

Nova Scotia is the latest province to join the Provincial Nominee Agreement with the Federal Government. This province is seeking the ability to recruit 200 immigrants per year, based on its own criteria. The criteria of the program has not yet been established.

Visa Office to open in Chandigrah

OTTAWA, August 02, 2002 — Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) is establishing an immigration processing office in Chandigarh, India. The office, which will serve the Indian states of Punjab and Haryana, should be open for business by the end of summer 2003.
