 British Columbia Has Immigration Allocation Increased, With More Candidates Issued Invitations in May 12 Draw

The Canadian province of British Columbia (B.C.) has seen a slight increase in the overall annual nomination allocation for its British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP), with the figure rising from 5,800 from an initial allocation of 5,500 for 2016. >>Read More

 Eleventh Express Entry Draw of 2016 Sees Decrease in CRS Point Requirement for Immigration to Canada

The number of Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points required for candidates in the Express Entry pool to be issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence has decreased in the latest draw, the eleventh to take place so far this year. A total of 763 candidates were issued an ITA on May 18, 2016, with the CRS point requirement set at 484. >>Read More

• 'Mon Projet Québec' Offline Until June 1

Mon projet Québec, the immigration application management system used by the government of Quebec for its Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSWP), will be offline from May 26 until 8.30 a.m. (Montreal time/E.S.T.) on June 1. The stated reason for the system being offline is due to technical maintenance of the system. >>Read More

The federal government has announced a range of special measures to support foreign workers, international students, permanent residents, and Canadian citizens affected by wildfires in Northern Alberta earlier this month. >>Read More

• Quebec to Introduce 'Virtual Waiting Room' for Approaching QSWP Intake Period 

The government of Quebec plans to implement an online 'virtual waiting room' in time for the approaching application intake period for the Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSWP), which is scheduled to begin June 13, 2016 at 8:30 a.m. EST (Montréal time). >>Read More

Quebec Investor Program Reopens for up to 1,900 new Applications

The popular Quebec Investor Program has reopened for up to 1,900 new applications, as of May 30, 2016. Of the 1,900 applications that may be accepted, a maximum of 1,330 applications may be accepted from nationals of the People's Republic of China, including the special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macao. >>Read More

New Stream Allows Employers to Hire French-Speaking Workers Without Going through LMIA Process

The Government of Canada is launching a new work permit option today under the International Mobility Program (IMP) called Mobilité Francophone. This stream aims to make hiring francophone skilled workers more straightforward for employers in certain regions of Canada. >>Read More

• BC PNP Entrepreneur Immigration Stream Issues 16 Invitations in May 31 Draw

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) issued 16 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) yesterday in a draw for its Entrepreneur Immigration stream. The minimum score requirement for this draw was 133, which is in line with the previous draws for this stream.  >>Read More

Latest Express Entry Draw for Canadian Immigration Sees Slight Decrease in CRS Point Requirement

The number of Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points required for candidates in the Express Entry pool to be issued an Invitation to Apply(ITA) for Canadian permanent residence has decreased by one point in the latest draw, the twelfth to take place so far this year. A total of 762 candidates were issued an ITA on May 18, 2016, with the CRS point requirement set at 483. The previous draw, which took place on May 18, required candidates to have 484 points in order to be invited to apply. >>Read More
