Q & A: Is CCPE assessment still mandatory?

CIC News
Published: March 1, 1998

Q. "The new application kit (published Feb,98) for Independent Applicants does not ask for an assessment by CCPE for engineers. I checked "Appendix C: Checklist for Independent Immigrants" section. This assessment used to be a required document before.

Is this still required? If 'yes' .. does "Engineering Physicist and Engineering Scientist"(NOC 21483) have to do it?"

Answer: CCPE assessment is not a mandatory requirement of the application process, even for professionals engineers. May visa offices, however, use that accreditation as strong evidence of your employability as a professional engineer in Canada.
