B.C. invites 158 immigration candidates to apply for a provincial nomination

B.C. issued 158 invitations in the latest Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw.

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) held a new draw on May 19. Candidates were invited from the Skills Immigration and Express Entry BC immigration categories.

Provincial score requirements varied by program.

The score requirements for the two Express Entry BC subcategories were:

Candidates invited under these subcategories needed to have profiles in the federal Express Entry system. Now that they have been invited to apply for a provincial nomination from B.C., they have the opportunity to win an additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points if they get the provincial nomination. This will effectively guarantee that they will receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in a subsequent federal Express Entry draw.

This draw was affected by the impact of coronavirus on B.C. businesses. A number of sales and service occupations were not included in the draw.

People who were invited in the May 19 draw now have up to 30 calendar days to submit a complete application to the BC PNP for the provincial nomination.
