OINP draws in 2025
These draws closely follow another round of significant invitations to apply issued by the OINP; On September 2, the OINP conducted three draws, issuing a total of 2,643 invitations to foreign nationals with job offers in priority health occupations.
This brings the total number of invitations to apply by the OINP in the first week of September to 4,536, as of time of writing.
Earlier this year, the OINP announced that its provincial nomination allocation for 2025 had been reduced to 10,750, down from 21,500 in 2024.
In addition, Ontario introduced changes to the application process for its Employer Job Offer streams. On July 2, the province launched a new online employer portal.
This change shifts the application process from being applicant-led to employer-led. Employers must now initiate the application by submitting job offer details directly to the OINP before a candidate can register an Expression of Interest (EOI).
The draws mentioned above only considered candidates whose employers submitted job offers through the new portal. Candidates who created EOIs before July 2 must work with their employers to resubmit their profiles using the portal in order to be considered.
