Prince Edward Island issues invitations for provincial immigration

The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) held one draw, issuing invitations to foreign nationals on September 19.

This marks the province’s ninth draw of the year, in keeping with its pace of roughly one draw per month in 2025.

PEI’s latest draw issued 129 invitations through the Labour and Express Entry category on September 19.

The province issued invitations to candidates employed in key sectors with strong economic impact.

Priority was given to those working with a PEI employer as well as international graduates from UPEI, Holland College, and Collège de l'Île.

What candidates is the PEI PNP prioritizing in 2025?

The PEI PNP is currently prioritizing skilled workers in high demand sectors such as

Healthcare;
Trades; and
Manufacturing.

Other key industries facing labour shortages may also be considered, although the province did not specify which.

Those working on non-priority sectors (such as sales and services) will not be receiving invitations to apply at this time.

The PEI PNP’s EOI system ranks candidates based on who is most likely to meet the province’s economic and labour market needs, based on one or more of the following:

English and/or French proficiency;
Education;
Work experience;
Alignment with labour market needs; and
Other factors relevant to employment, such as having a job offer in PEI.

Most provinces and territories had their nomination allocations for 2025 slashed.

In response, many provinces and territories, including PEI, responded by focusing nominations on workers in the most in-demand sectors and occupations.
