Prince Edward Island has issued 135 invitations to apply to immigration candidates in a draw that took place June 21.

Of this total, 32 candidates in the federal government's Express Entry system were issued invitations through PEI's dedicated Express Entry immigration category.

The province's immigrant nominee program, the PEI PNP, said Express Entry candidates who received invitations were already working in the province.

Express Entry candidates who wish to be considered under PEI’s Express Entry Category must create a profile in the province’s Expression of Interest (EOI) system, which was introduced in February.

Express Entry candidates who are nominated by PEI receive an additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points.

Labour Impact, Business Impact invitations also issued

The June 21 draw also issued invitations to 60 candidates in PEI’s Labour Impact Category.

No EOI score range was provided for these candidates.

PEI’s Labour Impact Category is for individuals who possess skills and experience that are needed in PEI’s labour market. The category is divided into three streams: Skilled WorkersCritical Workers and International Graduates.

PEI’s Office of Immigration did not provide a breakdown of how many candidates were invited through each stream in the Labour Impact Category.

Another 43 immigration candidates received invitations from PEI through its Business Impact category. The candidates had EOI scores that ranged from 140 to 157.
