Q & A: Which Criteria?

CIC News
Published: February 1, 2003

Q. How can I know that my case is assessed by the visa officer before March 31,2003. I want to know if application is being assessed under the new law or old criteria?

Answer: Your application will be processed under the old regulations up until March 31, 2003. If you have not received an interview waiver or attended a Personal Selection Interview prior to this date your file will automatically be assessed under the new regulations.

Applicants will not necessarily be notified if their case is to be assessed under the new criteria. Applicants will be responsible for the requirements specified in the Regulations effective June 28th.
