Q. Myself and my spouse landed in Canada and returned to our prior country of residence shortly thereafter. Is her pregnancy sufficient grounds for issuance of a Returning Resident Permit?

Answer: If an immigration official is satisfied that sufficient ties to Canada had been established prior to your departure, the issue of your spouse's pregnancy may be considered sufficient grounds to allow for issuance of the RRP. As it does not appear that sufficient ties had been established, however, it is likely that such an application would be refused.
