Manitoba

The prairie province held its 235th draw on December 27, 2024.

It issued 239 Letters of Advice to Apply (LOAs), after considering all eligible skilled worker profiles in Manitoba. The lowest-ranked candidate invited had a score of 857.

The province also issued invitations under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba’s Occupation-specific selection. There were 18 LOAs issued.

The National Occupational Classification (NOC) 2021 unit groups considered in this draw were as follows:

  • 31101 – Specialists in surgery
  • 31102 – General practitioners and family physicians
  • 31301 – Registered nurses and registered psychiatric nurses
  • 31302 – Nurse practitioners
  • 73301 – Bus drivers, subway operators and other transit operators

Finally, 19 LOAs were issued to those in the NOC unit group 60030 - Restaurant and food service managers. The cut-off score  for this group was 632.

In total, 276 LOAs were issued in this draw.

The province has highlighted that if someone’s score is higher than the lowest ranked candidate, but they have not received an LOA, this could be because:

  • They have indicated that they’ve taken an approved third-party language test to demonstrate language ability in English/French, but have not provided a valid test number in their EOI;
  • Their language test is no longer valid; or
  • They have indicated that they’ve received an Invitation to Apply to the MPNP under a strategic recruitment initiative but have not provided a valid invitation number.

British Columbia

As announced in 2024, British Columbia’s International Graduate and International Post-Graduate Streams will be replaced by Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral streams that will have new eligibility criteria.

The new streams are set to launch in January 2025.

To prepare for the new streams, the last ITA for the International Graduate stream was issued on November 26, 2024.

The International Post Graduate (IPG) stream will remain open for applications until 9am on January 7, 2025. International students who meet the eligibility criteria as of December 31, 2024, can apply during this period.
