After a pause spanning four months, Ontario’s Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) has begun issuing invitations to candidates once again.

On June 6, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) held a targeted draw for candidates in Greater Sudbury.

During this draw, invitations were issued to candidates who qualify for different OINP Employer Job Offer streams.

The breakdown across the streams can be seen below:

Employer Job Offer StreamNumber of invitations issuedMinimum score
Foreign Worker Stream3236
International Student Stream3454
In-Demand Skills Stream632

Candidates needed to have an active profile created on or before June 3, 2025.

In total, 72 candidates were invited in the June 6 draw.

To qualify, candidates must have had a job offer from an employer in the Greater Sudbury census division. They must also have been living in Canada and have a bachelor's degree or higher.

Those who have received invitations must submit their applications by June 20, 2025.

Details on the application process can be found on the OINP website.

News of these draws come just days after OINP resumed its PNP draws on June 3, after a four-month hiatus.

On June 3, 3719 invitations were issued under the OINP Employer Job Offer streams.

Prior to these, the OINP had held only held a single draw in 2025.

This draw took place on 15 January under the Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker stream and invited only four candidates under a targeted draw for foreign nationals who were part of the Economic Mobility Pathways Pilot.

OINP recently confirmed cuts to its 2025 provincial nomination allocation, lowering the total number of nomination slots to 10,750.

New EOI system

The OINP will launch a new Employer of Interest (EOI) system on July 2.

The new system will mark a shift from applicant-led process to an employer-led process for the OINP’s Employer Job Offer streams.

That means that employers will now have to initiate the application process, by submitting employment position details directly through an Employer Portal before an applicant can register for an EOI.

It also marks the shift from a paper-based system to a digital platform.

Candidates who have already submitted EOIs will have to work with their employers to re-initiate existing EOIs once the portal launches on July 2. Details on the process can be found here.

The new EOI system applies to the following Employer Job Offer streams:

  • Foreign Worker Stream.
  • International Student Stream.
  • In-Demand Skills Stream.
