The late David Cohen (1946-2021) was the Founder of CIC News and CanadaVisa and Senior Partner of Campbell Cohen.

He graduated from McGill University’s Faculty of Law in 1972. Starting from 1976, he practiced immigration law up until his passing in 2021.

David’s desire to help people with Canadian immigration matters led to him establishing CanadaVisa.com in 1994 and CIC News in 1996.

As the grandson of immigrants, David was inspired by their lives and their stories. His grandfather had told him about how he tried to sponsor his sister from Poland. However, the sponsorship did not go through and David's great aunt was never heard from again. He understood that these decisions have real consequences on people's lives. He wanted to give a voice to the voiceless, and help people start anew in Canada.

David leaves behind a staff of some 60 immigration lawyers, paralegals, and other professionals that are continuing his legacy through the work of Campbell Cohen and CanadaVisa's web properties.
