Refugee advocacy groups and asylum applicants are challenging recent healthcare cuts for individuals in Canada who are applying for refugee status. Health is primarily a Life and Safety issue, which the constitution of Canada protects and provides for all inhabitants whether legal, illegal or refugees under its jurisdiction in the boundaries of Canada. A critical infection caught by any refugee can easily become a life and safety issue, and a matter of serious concern for public health in any community, especially, if they are denied basic medical services. essential to protect their health and well being. If they had no protection of the basic human rights under the constitution of Canada, then as aliens they could also be easily deprived of their lives and hence there was no point in seeking the shelter and protection of the State of Canada as potential refugees ! Mr. Harper Govt has lost its balance and basic legal common sense about the existing law of the land towards its existing citizens and the people who may be seeking protection as refugees in Canada..
