Q. My spouse is presently married. Following the submission of our application, how will her delivery affect processing of the case?

Answer: If the baby is delivered any time prior to your landing, medical examinations would be necessary, and the child would be amended to the application. This may entail returning the landing documents if they had already been issued.

Although it is unlikely, if the baby is delivered after your landing, it does not affect your application.

If the interview is scheduled close to the delivery, and your spouse is unable to travel, visa offices will often waiver the requirement for her attendance. It is typically requested that young children not attend
selection interviews.
