Q & A: Offer of Employment

CIC News
Published: September 1, 2002

Q. My present employer may be willing to offer me a position at a Canadian affiliate after I immigrate to Canada. Would this benefit my case?

Answer: Evidence that you are likely to have a position of employment waiting for you upon your arrival in Canada can have a significant benefit to the case, although no points would be directly attributed unless the offer is validated by Human Resources Development Canada. The benefit would be in both the opportunity for an interview waiver, and in the application of substituted evaluation, if necessary.
