Toronto Dominion (TD) Bank, Canada’s second-largest bank, has collaborated with finance-technology company MPOWER Financing—a mission-driven fintech firm and a leader in international student financing.

The two companies have come together to help simplify the banking experience for international students and offer a suite of financial resources needed to help create a seamless banking experience for these students on their journey to Canada.

Benefit from TD International Student GIC Program

As an international student in Canada, one should plan for their finances early, in addition to balancing school and their personal life in a new country. Navigating these demands can be difficult. International students may need to establish basic financial services in Canada as they start their life here. A key part of this process is establishing a banking relationship with a trusted Canadian financial institution.

Newcomers should consider what kind of requirements they need to meet when opening a bank account. Considering availability of customer support, accessibility of branches and ATMs, and special offers might be important.

In addition to accessing these basic financial services, getting a credit card (if approved) and building your credit score are often important steps for international students.

Good news: Banks like TD in Canada offer special packages for international students to help meet their banking needs.

Picking the right bank account and credit card is important for international students in Canada. Find one what best suits your needs and lifestyle, and make sure you know all the details before you sign up.
