Unlike most other Canadian immigration programs, the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) has a publicly posted schedule of planned draws throughout the year.

What is the PEI PNP schedule?
The PEI PNP schedule for Expression of Interest (EOI) draws has four more planned for 2025:

The PEI PNP advises candidates that the above is an “Anticipated Invitation to Apply schedule” and is provided for information purposes. The province does not guarantee that it will hold immigration selections on these dates.
To date, the PEI PNP has kept to this schedule, holding draw numbers 1-7 on their publicly stated dates.
Candidates interested in applying to the PEI PNP should note that their EOIs will remain valid in PEI’s intake system for six months after the date of submission. EOIs are considered for future draws based on program requirements and the availability of nominations.
How many nominations will the PEI PNP issue this year?
Like all other provincial immigration programs, the PEI PNP’s nomination allocation was halved in 2025. The province received a total of 1,025 immigration spaces for the year.
According to the totals listed on PEI’s official page, the province has issued 792 ITAs through its Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) in 2025.
Notably, these ITAs are invitations to apply for provincial nomination, and not nominations in themselves. It is possible, due to application inventories, candidate rejection, and program requirements, that the total number of issued ITAs this year does not align with the number of allocated nominations.
All the draws so far have been focused on the Labour Market Category and the PEI Express Entry streams.
Given the restricted number of nominations available, the PEI Office of Immigration is now prioritizing skilled workers in high-demand sectors including (but not limited to)
- Healthcare;
- Trades; and
- Manufacturing.
The province has also indicated that individuals working in the sales and service sectors may not be invited to apply.
Is it possible that the PEI PNP will be able to issue more than 1,025 nominations this year?
While it is impossible to say with certainty whether PEI’s provincial allocation will rise in 2025, other provinces have had success in raising their provincial allocation in 2025.
The government of Newfoundland and Labrador successfully negotiated an additional 1,000 nomination spaces for its 2025 provincial immigration allocation with Canada’s federal government. The province achieved this by agreeing to admit more humanitarian immigrants through its immigration programs within the next two years.
Before these negotiations, the province had seen its annual PNP allocation reduced to just 1,050—a 50% cut from 2024—aligning with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada’s (IRCC’s) policy of halving all PNP admissions.
Newfoundland and Labrador’s current allocation for 2025 stands at 2,525 nominations.
Under the new Immigration Minister Lena Diab, other PNPs have seen an increase in their nomination allocation, including New Brunswick, Saskatchewan, and the Yukon.
