On April 13, Newfoundland and Labrador conducted another round of invitations across both of its provincial immigration pathways.
A total of 210 invitations were extended through the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP) and the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP).

Invitations issued in 2026
Compared to the last two selection rounds that occurred in 2026, the most recent one is the smallest—445 invitations were issued on March 6; 245 on March 30.
To date, the province has sent out 900 invitations across the NLPNP and the AIP. Here’s how it breaks down per program:
- NLPNP: 748 invitations.
- AIP: 152 invitations.
This year, Newfoundland and Labrador issued more invitations across both programs within the same period (January to April) than it did last year (256 in 2025 compared to 900 in 2026).
How to be considered through the NLPNP or AIP
Both the NLPNP and the province’s AIP have utilized an Expression of Interest (EOI) model since February 2025. All candidates must submit an EOI to be considered.
A valid employment offer is typically required under both programs, with the exception of designated NLPNP entrepreneur streams.
In their EOI, candidates must provide information regarding their:
- Occupation;
- Educational qualifications;
- Language proficiency; and
- Intention to establish residency in the province.
Submissions are reviewed by Newfoundland and Labrador’s Office of Immigration and Multiculturalism (OIM), which issues invitations to selected candidates based on provincial selection criteria.
Upon receipt of an invitation, either the candidate or employer may proceed with a formal application (provincial nomination for the NLPNP; certificate of endorsement for the AIP).
The application must be submitted within 60 days of the invitation and is subsequently subject to full evaluation.
EOIs remain active for a period of 12 months, after which they expire and must be resubmitted.
