The Government of Saskatchewan has released data regarding the number of nominations issued through the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) to date in 2026.
As of the time of this writing, the SINP has issued approximately 26% of its allotted nominations for the year (4,761).

Saskatchewan updates these figures on a quarterly basis, with these numbers representing the first look into the province’s nomination distribution thus far (as it does not regularly publish draws like other provinces).
How many nominations has the SINP issued in 2026?
The SINP has allocated a specific number of nominations to certain sectors for the year, categorized as
- Priority sectors (2,380);
- *Capped sectors (1,190); and
- Other sectors (1,190).
*If a sector is capped, the province limits nomination issuances in that sector to manage demand and labour market balance. Saskatchewan has identified the following three sectors to be capped: 1) Accommodation and food services, 2) Retail, trade, and other services, and 3) Trucking.

To date, the province has issued 1,223 nominations across—meaning the SINP still has a total of 3,538 available nominations remaining for distribution.
The table below shows the percentage of nominations each sector was allotted for 2026, as well as the percentage of the nomination allocation used thus far per sector.

Note: the sectors that Saskatchewan has identified as being of priority include the following:
- Healthcare;
- Agriculture;
- Skilled trades;
- Mining;
- Manufacturing;
- Energy; and
- Technology.
Within the priority sectors category, 750 slots are being reserved for graduates of Saskatchewan-based designated learning institutions employed in priority sector occupations.
“Other sectors” include any sectors not falling under priority or capped.
Upcoming intake windows
Saskatchewan has specifically created designated intake periods for capped sectors.
In 2026, there are a total of six intakes (two of which have already opened, one of which has closed), with spots made available on a first-come, first-served basis:
- Intake 1: January 20.
- Intake 2: March 2.
- Intake 3: May 4
- Will open at 8:30 a.m. CST for the Trucking sector and the Retail, trade, and other services sector.
- Will open at 12:30 p.m. CST for the Accommodation and food services sector.
- Intake 4: July 6.
- Intake 5: September 7.
- Intake 6: November 2.
Employers of workers in capped sectors can only submit an application during one of these intake periods if the worker’s work permit will be valid for six months or less.
Unlike for capped sectors, there are no restrictions in place on when employers of candidates in priority sectors or other sectors can submit an application.
