Saskatchewan earmarks 550 tickets to permanent residence track in September intake for employers in retail, trucking, accommodation, and food services

September 14–15 will be the last chance this year for Saskatchewan employers in capped sectors to support their workers for provincial immigration.

The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) has set aside 550 provincial immigration spaces, to be doled out on a first-come, first-served basis, according to a post on SINP Processing Statistics web page on September 2, 2026.

The SINP cancelled the intake it had planned for November 2, 2026.

The table below shows each capped sector’s submission window and the number of positions available for that sector, for the SINP’s final intake period:

Employers in retail, trucking, accommodation, and food services can advance a worker onto the provincial immigration track by submitting an Employer Position Assessment (EPA) application.

Employers can submit applications after the intake opens, up until the cap of 550 applications has been reached.

EPA applications submitted outside a designated intake period will be returned without being processed.

Each position listed on an EPA counts toward the applicable intake window cap. Employers may include multiple positions in a single EPA application; for capped sectors, the maximum is three.

Employers in capped sectors can only submit an EPA if the worker they are submitting an EPA for has six months or less remaining on their work permit.

While the SINP notes on its Immigration FAQs web page that each intake window “may remain open for several days,” spots for most sectors are generally filled within hours of opening.

The SINP advises on its Processing Statistics web page that employers should complete their EPA in advance and be ready to submit it when the applicable sector intake opens.

In 2026, processing times for EPA assessments have ranged from three to four weeks.

An EPA allows a Saskatchewan employer to seek SINP approval for a position intended for a foreign worker and contains basic personal details about the worker and employment details.

Approval of the position enables the worker to use the corresponding job offer in support of their SINP application.

Workers have 10 calendar days to review and confirm their employer’s EPA submission and 60 days following conditional approval to submit their nomination application.

Intake distribution across sectors may change if a sector reaches its cap, or if the province’s overall nomination allocation changes.

To date in 2026, the province has filled a total of 1,262 capped sector positions over its January 13–July 7 intakes.

In its September 2 update, the province specified that “nomination spaces previously allocated for later intakes will be made available in September.”

Employers in non-capped sectors are not restricted to specific intake periods and may submit an EPA at any time.

The SINP’s nomination allocation for 2026 is 4,761.

As of June 30, the province had issued a total of 2,628 nominations—around 55% of its 2026 allocation.

For 2026, the SINP has distributed its nomination spaces across three sector categories as follows:

• Priority sectors: 2,380.
• Capped sectors: 1,190.
• Other sectors: 1,191.
