On July 25, the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) sent out more invitations to provincial immigration candidates.

Candidates were selected based on their professional expertise and their capacity to address critical labor shortages within Alberta's economy.

Draw results

The province's most recent draw issued invitations under the Alberta Express Entry Stream, focusing on priority sectors—namely construction.

A total of 39 foreign nationals with valid Express Entry profiles received Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for provincial nomination.

This draw was limited to candidates whose primary occupation in their Express Entry profile fell under an eligible construction occupation.

Those invited based on having an Alberta job offer also needed that job offer to be in a qualifying construction occupation.

Alberta announced earlier this year that in 2025, it would extend invitations through its three main Express Entry Stream pathways, while also prioritizing candidates from key sectors.

Sectors currently prioritized under the Alberta Express Entry Stream include construction, agriculture, aviation, and healthcare.

How many invitations and nominations are still to be issued through this stream?

Given that the AIIP has issued 269 invitations under the Alberta Express Entry – Priority Sectors stream, the following table presents the state of the pool alongside the remaining allocation:

The province’s total nomination allocation for the AAIP in 2025 is 4,875, and it has used up 3,134 spots from its allocation as of 1 August.

As of this date, it still has 1,741 nomination spaces available for the remainder of this year.

After a foreign national receives a provincial nomination, they can apply to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for permanent residency.
