PEI invites skilled workers and international graduates in final scheduled draw of the year
On December 15, 2025, the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) extended more Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for provincial nomination.
This latest draw prioritized individuals employed in occupations and priority sectors that deliver strong economic benefits to the province.

The province sent out a total of 166 invitations in this selection round, focusing on those working in high-value occupations and sectors.
The PEI PNP noted that the following groups were prioritized in this round of invitations:
- Candidates working with a PEI employer; and
- International graduates from select designated learning institutions (DLIs), including:
- The University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI);
- Holland College; and
- Collège de L’îlle.
These invitations were extended through two provincial immigration pathways: the Labour Impact category and PEI Express Entry category.
Approximately 62% of PEI’s draws this year had similar selection attributes, wherein in-province workers and international graduates from the three DLIs listed above were prioritized.
This most recent draw is likely to be the last one held by the province in 2025, if PEI maintains its “Anticipated Invitation to Apply” schedule, which lists one draw per month.
PEI has only deviated from this one-per-month draw schedule once this year, when it held a surprise draw on October 27, which followed an October 17 draw.
How many ITAs has PEI issued in 2025?
The PEI PNP has conducted a total of thirteen draws over the course of 2025, through which it extended a cumulative 1,596 invitations for provincial nomination.
These invitations were issued almost exclusively through its Labour Impact and Express Entry categories, with a singular invitation going to a candidate through the province’s Business Impact Category – Work Permit Stream.
Barring an extra draw outside PEI’s planned rounds, this is the full count of ITAs PEI will issue this year.
How to be considered for an ITA in 2026
Consideration through the PEI PNP requires the creation and submission of an Expression of Interest (EOI).
The province uses an EOI ranking system to rank and select candidates most likely to meet its labour market needs. Assessment is based on several criteria, including:
- English/French language proficiency;
- Education (credential level, program, and where it was earned);
- Skills and work experience linked to in-demand industries;
- Fit with PEI’s current economic and labour priorities; and
- Employment outlook (e.g., a job offer in PEI and/or prior Canadian work experience).
EOIs, or profiles, remain valid in PEI’s EOI system for a period of six months. Once a profile expires, another will need to be made in order to remain in the running for an ITA.
The PEI Office of Immigration (OIM) is prioritizing skilled workers in high-demand sectors, such as healthcare, trades, and childcare. It remains to be seen whether these priorities will extend into 2026 or will be changed by the province in the new year.
Candidates who receive an ITA will have 30 days to submit a complete application to the province.
