Provincial nominees invited in first Express Entry draw of May
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has issued more invitations to apply (ITA) through the Express Entry system.
The immigration department issued 380 ITAs in a draw for Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates.
To be considered in this draw, candidates needed to have:
- A minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 798; and
- Created an Express Entry candidate profile before 5:23 a.m., Universal Coordinated Time (UTC) on January 7, 2026.

Today's draw is the tenth for provincial nominees and the twenty-seventh Express Entry selection of 2026 overall.
PNP Express Entry draws target candidates who have received provincial nominations, with eligible profiles within the Express Entry pool. The addition of a provincial nominations certificate to one's Express Entry profile adds an additional 600 CRS points—all but guaranteeing an ITA.
Express Entry draws this year have seen Canada's immigration department focus largely on immigration candidates within the country, particularly those with provincial nominations and Canadian work experience.
