Canada’s immigration department is once again open for questions by phone.

Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) phone operations have been down since late March following the implementation of special coronavirus prevention measures throughout Canada.

Now IRCC is once again accepting calls, but at a reduced capacity. Phone lines will be open from Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST.

The new phone system has been put in place to support agents working remotely. IRCC cautioned that technical issues may arise as a result of this new set up, according to a media release.

Online enquiries can be submitted 24 hours per day, seven days per week through IRCC’s webform.
