Alberta's Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) has held its biggest draw of the year.

On September 12, the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) invited over 1,000 candidates to apply for provincial nomination through the Alberta Opportunity Stream.

In addition, it held two more draws in the following week.

In total, over 1,433 invitations were issued over three draws.

Summary of draws (September 12-19)

In the week between September 12 and 19, the AAIP held three draws:

The Alberta Opportunity Stream is designed for temporary foreign workers employed full-time in Alberta with a qualifying full-time job offer from an eligible Alberta employer.

The Accelerated Tech Pathway under Alberta’s Express Entry Stream is intended for qualified tech professionals who are working in or have a job offer from Alberta in an eligible tech occupation.

Meanwhile, the Alberta Express Entry Stream – Law Enforcement Pathway is for candidates with job offers from Alberta Association of Chiefs of Police members. This pathway was launched last year to help local police services meet recruitment objectives.

Candidates for the Express Entry-aligned streams must meet the requirements of the federal Express Entry system.

Invitations and nominations yet to be issued

As of September 26, the AAIP has issued 3,983 nominations out of its annual nomination allocation of 4,875.

That means it has 892 nomination slots to assign to candidates this year.
