Alberta invites over 1,500 candidates in latest series of draws, targeting in-demand occupations
Between May 20–June 2, the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) held seven draws in which it invited select candidates to apply for provincial nomination.
Invitations were sent to professionals in several in-demand sectors, including manufacturing, technology, agriculture, and construction.

As of the time of this writing, the AAIP has conducted a total of 43 provincial immigration draws in 2026.
Draw details (May 20–June 2)
A cumulative 1,550 invitations to apply (ITAs) were issued over the course of the seven draws, which Alberta published on its official webpage on June 2.
Invitations were issued through the three streams, with the greatest share of ITAs issued to candidates through the Alberta Opportunity Stream—accounting for 64.1% of all invites.
The cut-off scores and number of invitations extended to candidates varied by draw:

Several of these selection rounds have been the largest of their kind so far in 2026. These include the May 29 Express Entry Accelerated Tech round, the May 27 Alberta Opportunity Stream selection, and the May 22 agriculture and May 21 manufacturing rounds under the Express Entry Priority Sector pathway.
This selection round also marks the AAIP’s first draw specifically targeting skilled trades linked to the construction sector (May 20).
To date, the province has invited no fewer than 7,819 AAIP candidates to apply for provincial nomination—with the Alberta Opportunity Stream making up a large portion of that total at 4,850 invitations.
The AAIP’s provincial nomination figures
As of June 3 (the date of the AAIP’s last webpage update), Alberta reports having used 2,587 nomination slots allocated to the province by the federal government in 2026. This leaves 3,816 spaces remaining.

Alberta has also used nomination spaces outside its regular PNP allocation to attract targeted groups, including 50 practice-ready physicians and 12 francophone candidates.
Expressions of Interest and applications awaiting processing
The province also publishes stream-specific data on the number of EOIs and provincial nomination applications requiring finalization it has in its inventory.
As of June 3, there were 38,292 worker EOIs in its pool, 63.4% of which have been submitted under the Alberta Opportunity Stream; a total of 1,222 provincial nomination applications were listed as awaiting processing.
