CanadaVisa releases high-wage CRS calculator
CanadaVisa has released an online calculator, allowing Express Entry candidates to see their scores following the recent high-wage changes to the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).
The calculator is available for free through CanadaVisa+ (CV+), which allows users to create a profile and check their score using a web browser on mobile, desktop, or tablet.

CanadaVisa made the new CRS calculator available to all users when it released an update to CV+ on November 3, 2026.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) scores Express Entry candidates under the CRS, and periodically sends invitations to apply (ITAs) for Canadian permanent residence to top ranking candidates.
On November 3, 2026, IRCC changed the CRS by adding the Labour Market Integration Factor (LMIF), which awards additional points to candidates with high-wage occupations.
Under the LMIF, Express Entry candidates now score the higher of
- Up to 150 points for Canadian work experience; or
- Up to 100 points for a high-wage job offer.
To calculate their score under the new CRS, a foreign national can visit the CV+ website and create an online profile.
When a new user completes their profile, CV+ automatically calculates their CRS score, factoring in the user’s
- Age;
- Education;
- Official languages proficiency;
- Relative(s) in Canada (if applicable);
- Spouse’s age, education, and work experience (if applicable);
- Work experience; and
- Job offer(s).
Existing CV+ users with up-to-date profiles will have their new scores calculated automatically, and can see their new scores by logging in.

High-wage points under the LMIF are awarded based on the candidate’s occupation(s), as classified according to the government’s National Occupational Classification (NOC), under which each job or job offer is assigned a unique NOC code based on its roles and responsibilities.
CV+ automatically calculates the appropriate number of points based on the occupations in a user’s profile, in accordance with the official government list of high-wage occupations. Each of the 186 high-wage occupations has an associated rate of pay of at least 1.3x, 1.5x, or 2x the Canada-wide median wage, with more points awarded for higher-paying roles.
Any user can create a CV+ profile and can see their CRS score for free. They may encounter a pay gate if they wish to continue to use CV+ after checking their CRS score.
To score high-wage points for Canadian work experience under the LMIF, a candidate must have at least 12 months’ consecutive full-time work experience across one or more high-wage occupations within the past 10 years.
To score points for a high-wage job offer, the job must be full-time and must be for at least a year after the candidate becomes a permanent resident.
As reported by CIC News, IRCC said that while the high-wage CRS changes are fully in force as of November 3, 2026, it may take up to two weeks after that for the changes to roll out across the Express Entry system. As of the time of writing, the government has paused invitations until after the rollout has been completed.
To receive points for high-wage job offers, IRCC said that Express Entry candidates must update their online profiles with the job offer information, which requires selecting that they have a positive LMIA (even though that is not required), and updating their “Work History” section as follows:
| Question or field | Response |
|---|---|
| Was a positive LMIA issued for the job offer in Canada? | Yes |
| LMIA Number | 00000 |
| LMIA Issuance Date | 2026-01-01 |
| LMIA Expiry Date | 2029-01-01 |
IRCC said that candidates with active, up-to-date profiles in the Express Entry system will be awarded points for qualifying high-wage Canadian work experience automatically.
