Those invited have the opportunity to pursue Canadian permanent residence through the MPNP.

Each candidate who received an invitation has up to 60 days to respond to the MPNP with a complete application for provincial nomination.

Once nominated, a candidate can request a work permit support letter from the MPNP for use in a federal work permit application.

A nominee may also be eligible to apply for a bridging open work permit (BOWP) once they have applied for permanent residence.

Under a federal temporary measure, MPNP candidates who have not been invited may be eligible for a work permit if they

  • Have a Manitoba support letter that was issued to them on or before Dec. 31, 2025; and
  • Currently hold, or recently held, a work permit.
