September 2025: State of the Express Entry pool

The number of candidates in the Express Entry pool from August 5 to August 17 has decreased by 2,472.

The greatest decline in candidates was concentrated in the 481–600 score range, which saw a combined drop of 2,342 profiles.

August marked the highest Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 2025 seen so far for French-language proficiency draws, and the second highest for Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draws.

What draws took place in August?

August saw the issuance of 6,417 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to candidates across five draws and four different draw types (two of them being category-based):

The immigration department issued 1,141 fewer ITAs in August compared to July. This is the fourth lowest month for ITA issuances this year following April, May, and January.

From January 1 to August 31, 2025, IRCC has sent out 55,820 invitations through the Express Entry system—23,143 less issuances than seen in 2024 during this time frame.
