New Brunswick selects 678 in-demand workers for provincial immigration
New Brunswick conducted several provincial immigration selections between August 10–September 18, through which it issued a total of 678 invitations to workers in priority occupational groups:
- Construction.
- Education, social and community services.
- Manufacturing
- Professional and IT.
- Sales and services.
- Transportation.
- Other trades.
Invitations were issued through the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) and three streams of the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP).

Invited candidates can respond with a complete application for nomination (NBPNP) or endorsement (AIP). After being nominated or endorsed by the province, they can apply to the federal government for permanent residence (PR).
Workers who have been endorsed through the AIP can apply to the federal government for an employer-specific work permit.
Provincial nominees may be eligible for a bridging open work permit (BOWP) after submitting their PR application.
As of June 9, 2026, nominees applying for PR through a base PNP stream can benefit from a faster process to apply for a BOWP, under a federal temporary measure that allows a base PNP applicant to qualify for a BOWP before they receive the Acknowledgement of Receipt (AOR) for their PR application.

Between August 10–September 18, New Brunswick held six selections—three under the NBPNP and three under the AIP.
Under the NBPNP, candidates were invited through the NB Skilled Worker Stream, NB Express Entry Stream, and NB Strategic Initiative Stream.
NBPNP: Skilled Worker Stream
New Brunswick issued 197 invitations under two pathways of the NBPNP Skilled Worker Stream between September 15–18.

New Brunswick Graduates pathway: For international graduates of an in-province study program that is eligible for a post-graduation work permit, who are working full time for an eligible provincial employer (or have accepted an offer for such a position).
New Brunswick Experience pathway: Targets individuals already living and working in the province for an eligible employer, with at least six months of full-time work experience with that employer.
NBPNP: Express Entry Stream
On September 17, New Brunswick issued 102 invitations through one pathway of the NB Express Entry Stream.

Employment in New Brunswick pathway: Targets Express Entry candidates who have lived in New Brunswick for at least 12 months and have been working full time in a TEER 0–3 position for a New Brunswick employer during that time.
NBPNP: Strategic Initiative Stream
On September 11, New Brunswick conducted a draw inviting 251 NBPNP candidates through two pathways of the Strategic Initiative Stream.

Francophone Workers in New Brunswick pathway: For French-speaking foreign nationals who are working for an eligible provincial employer in a full-time position (or have such a job offer) and have either been living in the province for a minimum of six months or received their job offer through a special recruitment mission.
New Brunswick Francophone Priorities pathway: Targets French-speaking foreign nationals with priority connections to New Brunswick, such as New Brunswick francophone graduates of eligible post-secondary programs (minimum one year in length) or candidates invited by Immigration New Brunswick.
Note: New Brunswick no longer separates multi-pathway draw results by pathway. Invitation totals and targeted occupational categories are now reported together for the entire draw.
AIP selections
Between August 10– September 10, New Brunswick conducted three AIP selections, through which a total of 128 invitations were issued.
These were broken down by the province as follows:

- August 10 + August 20 rounds: August 9 and August 19, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. AST.
AIP: An employer-led PR pathway for foreign nationals with a job offer from a designated employer in New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, or Prince Edward Island.
The offer must be endorsed by the province, and the foreign national must also meet basic requirements for language, work experience, education, and settlement funds.
