Manitoba immigration issues 257 invitations to workers in childcare, education, and healthcare
On October 8, the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) issued a total of 340 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) for provincial nomination, inviting
- 211 workers in select education or childcare occupations;
- 46 workers in healthcare; and
- 83 strategically recruited candidates.
Invited candidates can take the next step toward Canadian permanent residence by submitting a complete provincial nomination application within 60 days, and upon receiving a nomination, they may request a work permit support letter from the MPNP for use in a federal work permit application.

Provincial nominees may also qualify for a Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP) after submitting their application for permanent residence.
Since June 9, 2026, a temporary public policy has enabled base PNP applicants to apply for BOWPs months earlier by easing certain eligibility conditions.
Those who were not invited may still access an open work permit through the Manitoba Workforce Transition Bridge policy, a measure designed to support 2,700 at-risk Manitoba workers—specifically MPNP candidates who held a provincial support letter and an active EOI profile as of December 31, 2025.
