The Government of New Brunswick has selected 203 workers to progress to the next stage of the immigration process under the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP).

The province held three draws, on Oct. 2, Oct. 9, and Oct. 29, selecting workers in sectors such as construction, health care, and manufacturing to have their endorsement applications processed.

Those whose applications are approved will be issued an endorsement certificate, allowing them to apply for permanent residence at the federal level.

Endorsement under the AIP also opens the door to a two-year, employer-specific work permit issued by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.

Workers who apply for this permit before their current one expires may continue working on maintained status under the conditions of their expired permit, provided they remain in Canada until a decision is reached on their AIP work permit application.

Workers from the following occupational categories were selected for application processing in New Brunswick’s latest draws:

  • Construction.
  • Education, social and community services.
  • Health care.
  • Manufacturing.
  • Other trades.
  • Professional and IT.
  • Sales and services.
  • Transportation.

The province listed Oct. 1, Oct. 9, and Oct. 28, 2026, as the respective cut-off dates for the three draws, with a uniform cut-off time of 11:59 p.m. AST.

Candidates must possess a job offer from an employer that has received provincial designation to qualify for consideration under the AIP.

With these three draws completed, New Brunswick has selected a total of 898 AIP candidates for application processing across nine announced selection rounds:

Date of draw(s)Number of applications selected for processing
Oct. 2 + Oct. 9 + Oct. 29203
Sept. 25 + Oct. 263
Sept. 1060
Aug. 10 + Aug. 2068
July 22114
June 397
May 150
April 1118
Mar. 3–6125

While New Brunswick uses its provincial nominee program draws to issue invitations to apply, its AIP draws instead identify which submitted applications will proceed to processing.

Which AIP applications is New Brunswick accepting?

In an Oct. 14 update, New Brunswick announced that AIP endorsement applications may be submitted for all eligible occupations, except the following:

  • Fish and seafood plant workers (94142).
  • Food service supervisors (62020).
  • Restaurant and food service managers (60030).
  • Shippers and receivers (14400).

The province also reiterated that applications involving job offers to foreign nationals residing outside Canada remain limited to government-led recruitment initiatives in health care, education, and construction.
