Alberta invites over 1,000 candidates across six selection rounds, targets healthcare, aviation, and tech workers
Between June 17–June 29, the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) held six draws, through which it issued 1,037 invitations to apply (ITAs) for provincial nomination.
Invitations were sent to professionals across a variety of in-demand sectors, including healthcare, aviation, and tech; tourism and hospital workers also received invitations.

As of June 30, Alberta had conducted 56 selection rounds in 2026.
Draw results
The province’s latest AAIP draws, two of which targeted healthcare workers, saw invitations issued through the following streams and pathways:
- Alberta Opportunity Stream;
- Tourism and Hospitality Stream;
- Alberta Express Entry Stream; and
- Accelerated Tech Pathway.
- Priority Sectors Pathway - aviation and skilled trade.
- Dedicated Health Care Pathway.
- Express Entry.
- Non-Express Entry.
The majority of invitations were directed to Alberta Opportunity Stream candidates, who received approximately 69.4% of all invitations issued.

Alberta’s June 19–29 selections were focused on areas the province has identified as among its highest priorities for 2026, including health care, aviation, and technology.
The June 24 draw targeting candidates in the aviation sector represents the first of its kind in 2026.
As of June 29, the province had invited no fewer than 9,599 candidates to apply for provincial nomination through its 2026 draws.
Breakdown of Alberta’s provincial nomination figures
As of June 30, the Government of Alberta states that is has used *3,261 of the 6,403 nomination spaces allocated to the province by the federal government.

Alberta notes that is has also issued nominations through spaces set aside outside its regular Provincial Nominee Program allocation, including for 50 practice-ready physicians and 12 francophone candidates.
*Although the AAIP states that it has issued 3,261 nominations so far this year, the province’s stream-by-stream figures add up to 3,193. CIC News has reached out to Alberta for clarification and will update this article once more information becomes available.
Worker expressions of Interest and applications awaiting processing
The province’s inventory data also includes a stream-by-stream look at worker expressions of interest (WEOIs) and provincial nomination applications still awaiting finalization.
As of June 30, Alberta’s worker pool contained 37,497 WEOIs. Of these, about 62.8% were submitted under the Alberta Opportunity Stream.
The province also listed 1,466 provincial nomination applications as awaiting processing.
