Express Entry: 6,000 CEC invitations issued in largest draw in more than 16 months
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has issued more invitations to apply (ITA) through the Express Entry system.
The immigration department issued 6,000 ITAs in a draw for Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates.
To be considered in this draw, candidates needed to have:
- A minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 520; and
- Created an Express Entry candidate profile before 5:30 p.m., Universal Coordinated Time (UTC) on July 15, 2025.

Today's draw issued the most ITAs to CEC candidates since July 16, 2024—making it the single largest invitation round under the program in more than 16 months. This is a welcome change to CEC candidates, breaking the previous gridlock of a CRS cut-off score of 533 or 534, which has held for the last five draws, before this one.
Today's draw is the second of December and follows the largest PNP draw of the year on December 8, a huge French-language proficiency draw on November 28, and a Canadian Experience Class (CEC) draw on November 26.
Thus far, IRCC has issued 105,599 ITAs through the Express Entry system in 2025.
Express Entry draws this year have primarily focused on PNP draws, with the remainder of Express Entry ITAs dedicated to CEC candidates, candidates with French-language proficiency, and those in the Express Entry priority occupation categories:
